Administration of CIIR participation

The mailing list trec@cs.umass.edu is where administrative information about TREC is sent to the CIIR. Feel free to join the list if you like (http://ciir.cs.umass.edu/mailman/listinfo/trec) but you'll find most of it uninteresting from a research perspective.

HARD, High Accuracy Retrieval from Documents

  • Go to http://ciir.cs.umass.edu/research/hard for details on this track, including information on subscribing to the mailing list. It is being run by James, so the CIIR is playing a noticable role.

QA, question answering

Andres, Bruce, and James are currently deciding on whether we will participate in this track

Genomics

Andres is probably going to lead any participation in this track.

Novelty

James is currently deciding whether we will participate in this track. It is likely that we will, but not yet determined.

Robust retrieval

Not at all clear that we'll work on this track, but we're paying attention to see if it makes sense to do so.
