Marshall Teddy -------------- by R. Manmatha (copyright R. Manmatha) Marshall "shoot-em" Teddy lay on the couch watching a western starring John Wayne. Across him on another chair capwallah was rambling on about something. Marshall Teddy was getting bored of the capwallah and the movie - none of the actors seemed to be able to ride horses properly or wield their six-guns - they didn't make them like they used to. Now if he were a real Marshall .....Poof All of a sudden everything had changed around him. He could see cactus and sagebrush and an arid land. He looked at himself - he was a genuine marshall and a Sherriff with the badge, guns and all. He mounted his horse to ride to "ye -old-puffton-village". That's when his troubles started. The horse wouldn't move. No amount of coaxing helped. Finally he whacked the horse, the latter reared and threw him off. Riding horses was harder than he had expected. No matter, it didn't hurt a Marshall to walk. So off he went to walk followed by his deputy "full-beard" Dutta. They entered the village looking for the notorious cattle-rustler capwallah. First stop was the casino - a place the Marshall despised. Still that was where they might find the damned rustler. "Wild Bill Sawhney" was at his usual table playing cards with cow-girl Renee. The air was thick with liquor and smoke. Most disgusting thought the Marshall. " Relax Marshall, join us", said Wild Bill. the Marshall replied " I am going to close this here place sometime but right now I am looking for Rustler capwallah. Seen him ?" Wild Bill pointed to the corner of the bar. The Marshall walked to the corner and raised his gun - no point giving the varmint chances. He fired at point blank range. Zap.. Teddy woke up to find the TV remote control in his hand, he had zapped the TV off. Unfortunately nothing else had changed - capwallah was still across the room rambling on as usual.
