CIIR organizes ISMIR 2000: 1st International Symposium on Music IR, held in Plymouth, MA. Donald Byrd; Conf. Chair; Bruce Croft – organizing committee. CIIR is leading research efforts in that area: first to publish papers on the application of statistical language modeling approaches to music retrieval.
